Final Reflection

Image
This final reflection took a long time to do but now that I finished it makes me feel good. This reflection will talk about everything that I did in the class and will and also the things I learned and used in my projects.  Memo To: Jennifer Atkins-Gordeeva From: Martin Ortiz Guardado Projects and Their Processes This semester we had three major projects. My first project was a This I Believe Essay meaning I had to write an essay on something I believe in. For example "always be nice to the pizza guy" or " the golden rule". I wrote mine over a Mexican saying "Ponte Las Pilas" Meaning to put on your batteries. This means to try your best and to get your life together or to simply put on your batteries. I started the essay off by talking about how I would always get in trouble in school and how it affected my grades. Then I wrote about the time my mom and dad first told me to "ponerme las pilas". I liked this project because it brought ba...

Leticia Gasca “Don't fail fast fail mindfully” reading response

I had to do a reading response on one of my project three sources. I picked Leticia Gasca's ted talk because that's what got my attention the most. I was able to relate a lot to the things she was saying.    Leticia Gasca's  speech on  “Don't fail fast fail mindfully”   Starts off by talking about how they would publicly  humiliate  people back in the day.  After that, she goes on to tell us about how she started her own  business  but  struggled  to make sales and  eventually  had to  close it  down.  Then she  talks about how  it took her 7 years to talk to her friends about her failed business. After that talk her friends also opened to her about their failure.  is about how failing mindfully is about learning from the mistakes you make and sharing your learning experience with the world.  Leticia  started a group with her friends to tell their stories and learn from each oth...

I had created a birthday card to help me understand how to know what audience your writing for. This was a cool little exercise I did.

project 3 rough draft

For project three, my teacher posted 4 students' essays together including mine and we had to give feedback to each other. By doing so I was able to not just give help but also receive some. I had to give feedback to three other classmates. This is the link to see all the comments https://docs.google.com/document/d/12-qAy5ZcPtWxr9F45O2mR479CKeIGJmOH83YUszJjfA/edit.  Essay 1: “Project 3” Project 3 I don’t feel successful in life yet because I haven't achieved my goal to have a home and a good stable life. I am trying to put a lot of effort into school to try to get the best grades I possibly can. I was always told I'm smart and how if I use my brain I will succussed. Easier said than done.  Every time I struggle, I just remind myself why I'm doing this, why I'm going to school. The main reason is because of my mom. She always told me she wanted me to get an education since she didn’t have one. My number one fear is to fail in school and not get the life I want. Mayb...
